Tito is a Kinyamulenge-speaking pastor from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He fled war and ethnic cleansing in his African home and now lives in the U.S.
The Bible didn’t exist in Kinyamulenge, so Tito had to preach from a Bible in another language. Even though he knew this language well, some teachings weren’t clear.
When Tito read in Matthew 11:12 that “the violent take the Kingdom of Heaven by force,” he understood it to mean that Christians should be aggressive and that they have to work hard to enter into the Kingdom.
With your support, Tito discovered the truth that Jesus was teaching!
Tito serves on the team that is working to translate the Bible into Kinyamulenge. As he translated the book of Matthew, he discovered that he and his people had misunderstood how to enter — and live in — God’s Kingdom.
Tito now knows that his salvation is a free gift that he receives through faith in Jesus, not earned through violence or his own work — and he can now teach his people the truth!
Thank you for helping Tito and his people have God’s Word in the Kinyamulenge language!
