“Many people will come to the Lord because of these books!”

Victor prayed for God’s Word in his language. Your support and God’s faithfulness helped Victor lead the charge to translate the Gospel of Luke!

Victor grew up in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, speaking the Kinyamulenge language. He was only nine years old when he began to follow Jesus.

Victor studied the Bible and even became a missionary. But there was a problem. The Bible did not exist in his language, so he read it in another African language.

One day Victor was startled to realize that many words in that language meant the opposite of what they mean in Kinya-mulenge. He was missing out on truly knowing God!

Victor prayed that God would give him and his people the Bible in their own language. God brought Victor into contact with Philemon, and they began translating. But the translation work was too big for them to do alone, so they prayed for help. Your support made such a difference! You provided technical support and funding so they could work full-time translating the Gospel of Luke.

Decades after Victor began to pray for God’s Word in Kinyamulenge, the first book — the Gospel of Luke — is now available. The prayers Victor began offering as a young person are bearing fruit in his old age. “Many people will come to the Lord because of these books,” Victor said.

Thank you for being part of answered prayer through your support for the Kinyamulenge translation!
